Volunteer Application

Train as a certified sexual assault crisis counselor per CT General Statute 52-146(k) and join us in supporting victims and their families

Requirements:

• No prior experience needed, but you must live within 30 minutes of the Greater Waterbury area.
• Be at least 18 years old and have reliable transportation.
• 40 hours of training required for certification as a Sexual Assault Crisis Counselor in CT.
• Topics include crisis intervention, sexual assault, domestic violence, diverse populations, hospital and court procedures, and more.

Responsibilities:

• Staff our 24/7 confidential hotline during non-office hours and holidays (remote).
• Provide in-person advocacy at local police stations or hospitals as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and accurate documentation.
• Attend annual meetings for case discussion and training.
