Penguin Problems
In this video, Prevention Educator Sarah reads the book “Penguin Problems” by Jory John & Lane Smith. Sarah will explain what gratitude is, and use the character in the story to demonstrate when someone is not showing gratitude.
We will also discuss the benefits of practicing gratitude on a regular basis, and tips for how kids and families can practice gratitude together.
This is the 2nd Grade lesson in our Bullying Prevention curriculum, but is appropriate for grades 1-3.

In this video, our Prevention Educator, Sarah, reads “Lucy and the Bully”, by Claire Alexander. While we read, Sarah will discuss what defines bullying behaviors, how the characters in the story respond, and how to get help if you or someone you care about is being bullied.
Tear Soup
In this video, we’ll talk about grief & loss, and how many of us are experiencing grief during the COVID-19 crisis. We’ll also read the book “Tear Soup”, by Pat Schwiebert, Chuck DeKlyen, and Taylor Bills to help us learn more about the grief process.
This book is great for kids in grades 3-6, as well as teens and adults. We recommend caregivers watch this video first before sharing it with your child to determine if it is appropriate for your child.
Why The Face?
